Military PostSecrets

Military secrets revealed without Pentagon's permission

Iraq Military PostSecretIf you follow the artworld or popular culture, PostSecret needs no introduction. PostSecret originator Frank Warren started out with little more than a blogspot, but it turned out to be a platform built on one great idea-- asking people to anonymously mail a secret never before revealed on a homemade postcard. With no restrictions on the content other than to be completely truthful, Warren has received postcards with everything from criminal intent, sexual confessions and those embarrassing predilections we wouldn't dare tell even our best friend.

PostSecret is all about empowerment; it's the ultimate confessional booth, form of outsider art and self-help art therapy. More importantly, revealing secrets through images and words is not only empowering to the sender, it's also empowering to the viewer. Just visit the PostSecret site and you'll find a few of your own well-kept secrets reflected back at you.

So what if you ask the military to share their "postsecrets?" In honor of Veterans Day, enjoy this film about the nation's service men and women and their families and their most intimate, untold stories via postcards.
