"I was drunk the day my Mom got out of prison, and I went to pick her up in the rain. But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got runned over by a damned old train." Read More

Interesting blog, and great
Interesting blog, and great song too (researchers have found it is sung, drunkenly, at some point in the evening at 72% of college fraternity parties in the South). You note that if we constructed the perfect person based upon what positive psychology has shown us so far it would most likely be female. I don't disagree, but is this because women are in general happier than men (I don't think research supports that at all and that isn't what you are saying), or that the research to date has tended to focus more on behaviors traditionally associated with women?

perfect women
My offhand comment was based on the 'facts' that women are more likely than men to many certain character strengths and to have better relationships with others. I believe the research shows that men and women on average have the same happiness, but that women show a greater range. Chris Peterson
