Why is Big Brother promoting a campaign of fear against pleasure? Read More

Control - The Hidden Purpose
One day we will wake up and the last of our control over our own destiny will have vanished. There will be no fanfare; no trumpets will sound the death of personal freedom. No announcement will herald the end of liberty. No warning siren will wail before the last of our rights are stripped from us and we become slaves for big brother's use.
.
No, our freedoms will go quietly. Gradually. Withered away by one scare tactic after another. Though I am not normally fond of the man, Glenn Beck paints a good picture of this in his book "The Overton Window." Slowly, ever so slowly, Big Brother shifts the paradigm in our nation to one of fear and an acceptance of increased control and regulation. And ever so slowly, we cede our rights in exchange for "protection."
.
The loss of freedom is happening all around us. Ensuring foreign religious laws are not applicable in our courts and requiring ID in order to vote are defenses against quiet invasion. Yet our own court system, and our hypocritical department of justice, where there is none, blocks these efforts to defend our way of life. We have cameras on every corner to "ensure our safety." Our cellular phones have location tracking devices hidden within.
.
Yet we do not complain.
.
Our leaders continue to push our buttons. They pit one religion, one race, against another. They incite class warfare. They distract and disguise their motives. But make no mistake. They are seeking control. They want to own their serfs, not serve their citizens.
.
And they are winning.
As Chris Rock has wisely
As Chris Rock has wisely pointed out, they don't care about your safety. After all, you can buy guns at Walmart.
Interesting connection I made while reading this.
"In each of these situations, a problem provides the pretext to regulate "undesirable" behavior. The objective has less to do with personal safety than with social control."
When I read this section was a struck with by an interesting connection. We've heard over and over and over that rape is rarely about sexual conquest and usually more about control. I'd go so far as to say most forms of sexual abuse are more about control than they are about sexual acts. I find this an interesting thought in connection with this article when you stop to realize how many of our political and religious leaders turn out to have some form of sexual abuse as a behavior pattern of their own, then their desire to exert more and more levels of control over those they lead makes a lot more sense.
If they don't understand boundaries with their interns or alter boys, then they certainly can't be expected to understand boundaries with my civil liberties. They aren't here to serve me, I'm here to serve them, and that's all they are capable to seeing through their extreme ego-mania.
On a side note, I just have to say, nice to see a post on a PT blog that says the things I have been saying for years, funny though, a few years ago I got called a conspiracy nut for saying those things, now they're in a blog on PT, just saying. :)
