The 99th Monkey

One man's spiritual quest—and his continuous and utter failure to find the answers.

Self-Caregiver Burnout

In the infant days of the New Age movement in the United States, it was often said about relationships that, "In order to truly love someone else, you have to love yourself first." I tried that, but found that I needed to have an open relationship with myself, so if things didn't work out I'd be free to see other people. Read More

99th Monkey - what happened to the others?

Self-Caregiver Burnout - hilarious!

You never see the other monkey's around any more - not quite enough elixirs. Mostly they had Kinesio tape over their eyes, ears, or mouth, so got hit by a car, mugged, or died of starvation. Shoulder and knees are that bad, though the best would be Alzheimer's because you could/would forget about the rest.

why care for your Self when a manservant can do it for you?

With the money you save on joint replacements, you could just take to a bed, in Paris, even. Let your wife wait on you. Or if she desists - as she surely must - hire a solemn manservant to tend to you. Just jingle a bell and bowls of cantaloupe cubes and mounds of falafel will appear. A tender masseuse, easy on the eyes, will rub you down with liniments of bergamot honey and crushed walnuts. Shuffle over to the window, the one overlooking saint-germain-des-pres. Sip a little limoncello (good for the soul), whistle a happy tune, and wait for your sweet sweet Self to fly in to you, in on the late evening breeze. And...invite all your Facebook friends to visit.

dear schvitzing in alabama...

Do I know you? Feels like I should: "liniments of bergamot honey and crushed walnuts" ? I'm in.

But I only sip limoncello in Italy. DIdn't know it was legal in Paris.

Self care burnout

It saddens me to see someone having to take so many steps to restore balance to their life. All of your symptoms do have a common thread. Connect the dots man. DD Palmer said it best

"when educated intelligence can communicate with innate intelligence, a point at which the not to distant future may hold, then a correct diagnosis and treatment maybe rendered"

Seek out one who is accomplished in applied kinesiology and you will find the answers your looking for to restore balance to your life...
