THE ARGUMENT

Is ended,
No further
Need be said.

The wound
Cannot be mended,
The issue
Is quite dead.

If you believe
The case to be
Exactly
As you stated,

Then you and I
May both feel free
To let it lie,
Abated.

If you consider
All is well,
If you are satisfied

That there is nothing
Else to tell,
Or add on either side:

Then won't you say
You're through,
You're no more tired
Than I

Who fully understands
Your view
And only wonders
Why?"
