Why we can't (or won't) move on from bad jobs, bad relationships, and bad habits, and how we can all move ahead.

Pelvic Thrusts in Public

The ongoing movement to glorify the slut has lately taken a stiletto-heeled, sauntering step farther. For a large sector of the American population -- spanning race, class, and gender lines -- the prevailing aesthetic is Modern Prostitute. The slut thing was different. Promiscuous people, one could argue, simply like lots of sex. Their passion doesn't merit prejudice. So you could say that the de-stigmatization of sluts was progressive. But prostitutes and others who sell sex: Most of them do not want to. Most do it only under duress, as a last resort. Sex-positive? I don't think so. Yet now it's super cool, especially among the middle-class young, to dress like those who sell sex. Top performers dress and act, at least onstage, like those who sell sex. What does this say about us? Read More

Somehow I don't think the slut look was exactly what Gloria Steinem and the other feminists had in mind when they were fighting for women's rights.

Observant article; of clothing

Depressives are highly sexual early in life and and as the prefrontal cortex loses cells and the Amygdala and hippocampus shrink the sexual drive is decimated. Depressives also enter highly altered states called episodes and psychosis. The woman in jail for killing her daughter is considered a psychotic. Sincerely,David

I'm sorry, could you possibly

I'm sorry, could you possibly back up your thought process on why most sex workers do not actually want to be sex workers; at least in North America? Please explain that to me. Where is your statistical evidence for that? Do all porn actresses NOT want the high wages for the low hours put in to shoot? Far fewer sex workers are victims of their circumstance than you would think, and many are inclined to this lifestyle simply to earn ludicrous amounts of money.

As well, your argument lacks merit as a whole. Trends in fashion are changing, and they often cycle fairly often, to equate a certain style of dress to dressing like a prostitute is a huge misnomer on your part. Both because you don't know what prostitutes may or may not dress like in their daily wear when they are off the clock, and there is not a lot that is indicative of dressing a certain way and having certain behaviors, such as promiscuity.
