When I cowrote Stop Walking on Eggshells in 1997, most people were unaware of what borderline personality disorder was. Now, I get a Google alert almost daily for mentions in one media outlet or another. Here are some recent ones:
A video from CNN: "Bullied by a Borderline Personality." Some people say it's stigmatizing; others say it addresses a real issue. My take: some people with BPD bully and some do not. How do we validate those family members who experience it without invalidating those with BPD who do no such thing?
An entry in this blog ("Borderline PhD.") about the pros and cons of "coming out" as someone with BPD. The blog is by the author of the new book "Girl In Need of a Tourniquet."
Kiera Van Gelder, author of Buddha & the Borderline: My Recovery from Borderline Personality Disorder talks about the same topic in this blog post, titled "Coming Out of the Psycho Closet." .
A groundbreaking public service announcement about BPD from the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder. It's long overdue! Pass this link to your friends.
A number of other articles about BPD exist as well; share one if you like.
