You come off as egotistical in this post.

Mind Stretching

Well, I have to confess to getting sucked in
to the odd trashy post...

"What would I write instead? I have a bunch of
cognitive psych tricks to becoming smarter and
more effective that I'd be happy to post."

Ugh, please no... There are already way too
many books on that subject (and probably blogs too).

Stretching ones mind and what "Nobel-prize winners
find valuable", much better.

There is nothing better than reading something
that compels one to think about the world in a
completely different way.

"I am building toward being able to address
important questions that people have. And as
I said in the same reply, not everybody
(fewer and fewer, in fact) can afford to
buy an $11 book. And I feel strongly that,
if it is possible, people should not have
to choose between a meal and knowledge.
I push my publisher to the limit as it is."

Some people just write a book (or have it
ghost-written) to make a buck, or to
promote their image. But, I do think that
many, many authors write their book as a
labor of love. I'm looking forward to
reading your book, since I've enjoyed
reading your mind-challenging blog.

As for negative comments (like the one
above), I hope you take them as a badge
of honor. when Al Franken had a radio
show, I used to catch it every now and
then. Once a week, he would read out
loud that week's funniest hate-mail,
it was always amusing, and was my
favorite part of the show.

Keep up the good work

I like your posts. I read all of the posts on PT Blogs with the exception of one author's. I think the issue comes about with the setup of the site as a whole. It oftentimes has blurbs and how-to's instead of truly deep insight and today's consumers (in this case readers of this site) are used to being spoonfed everything.

Keep making us think and if some don't like it, just know that I am sure there are plenty out there like me who truly enjoy your thoughts.

Thank you.

I have been reading your

I have been reading your posts and I will just buy the book. I am looking for something I cannot find in a someone's book when I read posts on PT. I do agree that your info requires some more research into current cognitive psychology literature.

I do greatly admire your ability to market your posts as they were generally high on the most read list despite the holes in the research. I would like to know more about how to do this and if there is a way to drive in more hits to a blog.
