How do we as nurse stop the excessive loud top with subjects ranging from other patients to highly personal? We are a small unit an every loud conversation is heard by all; including patients and families. Do you feel we use the term ICUitis too casually and that our patients may actually be suffering unnecessarily from lack of sleep, leading to this behavior?
