Is having babies recession-proof?

The economic crisis is giving couples pause before deciding whether to have or delay having another child. The global economic slowdown is hurting almost everyone in one way or another. Read More

I predict it will drop.

I stumbled into Susan's blog

I stumbled into Susan's blog after pitifully googling "2 v. 3 kids...what should I do". I have a healthy girl 6, boy 3 1/2 and can't figure out whether to have a third, and don't want to make a bad decision. I work as a lawyer part time, and with the economy, it's likely neither of us are retiring any time soon. I come from a family of 3 daughters, and am thankful for my sisters every day. I'm pretty taxed balancing raising my 2, working, and marriage(it was simply different for our mothers that didn't work), but I feel that I'm depriving my two of the joy of a third sibling (as adults). I also think I'd love having three adult children. I'd love opinions from Susan and anyone out there with 2 or 3 and how they made their decisions.

Babies are Gift of God

Forget the recession. Babies are gift of God and are 100% recession proof.

I also struggle

We've wanted another child (we have 2 boys- 5 & 7)for a while and have been postponing due to financial issues. While, I feel that there will never be a "right" time, I also want to plan for as much as I can. I've made a list of things that I'd like to have in place before we add another child. Things like, xxx amt in savings, and day care, etc already worked out to the best of our ability.

Good luck to those in the same spot!

I've seen to have gotten a girl pregnant..

I'm now 19 and experiencing being a dad. I must say although it feels good it's still hard. I knew it wouldn't be easy but to be honest, the hard part is having to balance time. My daughter is great and makes managing her never dreadful. -Teen dad
