Appreciate your posting about Alan Watts
It's good to see Watts mentioned and pictured here in the Psychology Today blogs. He was a brilliant and seminal figure in both the humanistic, existential and transpersonal psychology movements of the 1960's and 70's. Especially impressive, and highly relevant to the practice of secular spiritual psychotherapy, are his books The Meaning of Happiness (written when he was only twenty-four), and the mind-blowing Psychotherapy East and West, which demonstrates both the similarities and differences between Western psychological treatment and Eastern psychology/philosophy/religion. Recommended reading for all psychotherapists and graduate students. Thanks for the posting!
