"Introverts are best suited for jobs in which they don't have to work on teams all the time," says Shoya Zichy, author (with Ann Bidou) of Career Match: Connecting You You Are with What You'll Love to Do. She shares that introverts do best when they can spend a large part of the day working in a fairly private space. She continues, "Introverts get energized from their inner resources - that is, from spending time alone to recharge their inner batteries. Even if they like being with people, which most introverts do, interacting too much can drain their energy." Adds an advertising account executive we'll call Sharon Ryan, "As an introvert, I need alone time to think deeply and decompress. I use that time to consider my options and to reflect on what's important to me - and where I want to grow." Read More

Am I an introvert?
While I am reading your blog, I was thinking, If I am an introvert? Why? Because I also want to work alone. I excel more if I work alone. In our office, I usually close the door so that no one will disturb me while I am working. But then when the working hours is done I'm going out with my friends and socialize. so, I'm confuse about it?
Thanks.
Introvert or extrovert?
Hi Jean,
A quick and simple guideline is to look at what you're drawn to more than 50% of the time – quiet activities that you do alone (introvert) or social activities (extrovert). Also, consider what you do on weekends. Do you prefer spending more time engaged in activities like reading and gardening (introvert) or getting together with groups of friends and going to parties (extrovert)? Of course, many introverts enjoy socializing. However, unlike extroverts, introverts recharge their energy during their quiet time. You can take the MBTI® tool or another personality assessment to discover more about your personality type.
