Race and the Race, Epilogue

One last look back at race and the 2008 Election.

And from the perspective of social perception, we know that exposure to new messages, to new associations can change the expectations we have for the world around us. The outcome of this election by no means indicates that we have reached a post-racial era, nor does it guarantee that progress will be made towards ameliorating race-based disparities in this country. But it is without question a watershed moment that reflects our continued, if gradual movement towards a more egalitarian society.

Wait, was CNN really using hologram technology to make correspondents on the scene appear to be in studio?  No, that must have just been the sleep deprivation playing tricks on my eyes. That had to have been another hallucination, just like when I could've sworn that I heard them say that Alaskans had elected a recently convicted felon to the Senate.
