Obviously we need a new way to teach boys
Thanks, Dr. Sax, for pointing out this research. It just goes to show we need a new way of teaching boys. They just can't, won't and don't learn the same way girls do in our girl-centric school systems. Sitting still for hours, doing worksheets and taking lots of written tests is no way to reach the average boy (and many girls, too). Our local school has practically done away with field trips because of funding, and recess is no longer offered for anyone over 4th grade. The kids have facts to memorize for standardized tests, with little hands-on learning.
The girls probably don't like it either, but at least their brains can bear it.
