The voices shouting "repeal and reverse" regarding healthcare reform are no more powerful than an auditory hallucination. I don't have a particular objection to taking an active stance and not taking things for granted, but with majorities in both the house and the senate, the likelihood of a reversal is pretty dim. Also, there is very little precedent for expanding social programs to the general public and then having them reversed.
It will also be pretty hard to "demonize" keeping your kid on health insurance until age 26, or preventing a for-profit insurance company from kicking grandma off her insurance for a pre-existing condition.
This is not exactly a "hot button" issue like gay marriage. Are there people opposed to these reforms? No. They are just opposed to paying for them. But even if these reforms increase the deficit, the "deficit" is a pretty abstract concept compared to, "I got my medicine today" or "I did not go bankrupt for health cost issues."
