In addition to psychology (and noimetic psychology) my interests include creativity, meaning, and activism. I've written at length on subjects like "engaged creativity" and when I train creativity coaches we spend a lot of time on the subject of "meaningful creative work." Read More

Interesting Ideas
As the son of pioneer western landscape photographer Philip Hyde, who introduced color to landscape photography and whose photographs helped to make more national parks and wilderness than any other photographer of his time, I have been around world class photography and art all my life. More recently I have followed Guy Tal's blog for about two years. Myself and a large following of prominent image makers find Guy's writings challenging and elevating above the status quo. In the article above adapted from one of his blog posts, he encourages going beyond mere beauty in art and explains why this is important to the soul of art and of our very society. Maybe this is obvious to some, but Guy presents the idea in a fresh new way accompanied with other relevant ideas of equal import to making art with real meaning. Thank you, Eric Maisel, Ph.D., for helping to share Guy's important messages with the world.
