Repairing Relationships

Building Intimacy and Joy into Your Relationships

Why Is It Important For Men To Integrate Their Male Friendships and Family Into Their Relationship With a Woman?

Integrating males friends and family into a relationship.

If a healthy man is to maintain balance in his life,  he must make close male friendships a priority. Relationships with other men enable him to express feelings and share common interests that have always been an important part of his life. By nurturing these friendships throughout the development of the new heterosexual  romance, a healthy man will retain trusted confidants with whom he can share his ups and downs and gain valuable feedback from a  distinctly male perspective.

Americans once knew that the prospective bride should  be integrated into the man's life. If she could not abide his friends and family, it was considered proof of incompatibility and the courtship was abbreviated. Early Americans knew a man's friends were a mirror of his true self.

21st Century men practicing Tiger Woods Syndrome don't want their prospective mate to see their true self. They don't care about incompatibility. All that matters is achieving the goal of gaining the relationship. These mirage men tend to be alienated from other men once they enter a serious relationship and put an unnecessary burden on their lover to provide all their relational needs. When the woman can't  meet all those needs resentment continues to build up in the man.
