Charisma--"or you got it or
Charisma--"or you got it or you ain't."
Charisma is not what it seems
The US rewards extroverts and extroverts are typically more charismatic than introverts.
Being an extrovert and/or charismatic is a superficial attribute and is not related to content. But of course charisma does not preclude content. Many extraordinary humans had huge charisma.
The problem is that charismatic people can under perform in terms of their real contribution but a whole organization will be convinced they are doing a great job and will readily promote them over more qualified candidates. This is typical.
In the same way a charismatic business may not have the best product but may succeed over another business with a better product. It's called salesmanship.
In my experience generally the more mature and wise we are, the less taken we are by charisma.
