IMO this article’s points are weak ones unless you're in a same sex committed relationship.

I just want to be able to get income from a roommate in the future, should I need that, and not lose full ownership of my property by someone taking unfair advantage of same sex marriages and falsely claiming one exists where none did. I do live in a community property state after all. (Other ways to take advantage will also appear.)

Ever hear of Palimony. Where will it end? It's just plain unsafe for regulars to support. Someone would have to be really naive to not realize this.

Why on earth would anyone want to subject themselves to unrelenting disapproval and discrimination from so many people, just for a few measly benefits? It's not worth it, seriously.

I am not sure what to make of anonymous comments, but...

1. I think I might be missing your point. Please explain, what keeps different-sex roommates from taking that same unfair advantage?

2. I had never heard of Palimony, but I just googled it and am afraid that Palimony is not a legally accepted concept. A palimony will not stand before any court.

3. Re "Someone would have to be really naive to not realize this": As an academic - I've come to the conclusion that if you know a really obvious answer to a highly contended issue, then 9 out of 10 times you're not even understanding the issue. The other 1 time you're most likely a Nobel prize winner...

If two gay ADULTS want to get married, let them get married. It's nobody else's business. You know who else has such strong religious views that they don't accept other people's way of life? Terrorists.
