Neighborhood Play for Kids

This is a very timely and welcome blog! I run a family of online communities called Playborhood (see: http://playborhood.com) devoted to getting parents to let their kids play outside in their neighborhoods, and I can tell you many, many parents are eager to hear your message.

Here's an article from Playborhood.com that is particularly relevant to your blog here:

Why is it a Good Idea for Adults to Control Kids’ Sports?

kids and sports

I've coached Little League, high school and college athletes.

In regard to your article, I believe that kids sports should be for kids not parents. Parents can stifle young children on the field of play. Children need to find out what they can and can't do on their own.

Open up the athletic facilities to kids and let them create their own teams and leagues with an overseer, not a parent. Kids that can do that will become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

They can see their parents after playtime.

America is in desperate need of people that can do it themselves without someone standing over them telling them how to do it.
