Today, HBO airs "Boy, Interrupted," a documentary which tells the story of a young man's experience with mental illness and his mother's struggle to provide him with the support he needs. If you happen to watch it, I'd love to hear what you think (please comment below). If you're interested in finding out more, check out this article in the Huffington Post.
I will write more once I know more - but, for now I'd love to hear what you think about:
- young men and mental illness
- the effects of mental illness on family members
- how documentaries might help or might hurt efforts to decrease stigma about mental illness
