i dont know

my guess is that parents like to feel needed and useful, and some just take it too far. its hard not to become too attached though.

Do it well, but not alone

I think much of the problem comes in when society, families and mothers believe they have to do it all on their own. I do practice attachment parenting, I do not want to "slack off" in areas that I think are important, but I don't think that I have to be supermom 24/7.
