While the media and many women’s organizations focus on what is wrong with the lives of women executives a new generation of women leaders are focusing on what is right. New studies (and a closer look at older ones) show that women are much happier, and more confident about their careers than the tone of the discussion would indicate.

The overwhelming prevalence of moms clubs—versus parents’ clubs or families’ clubs or anything else we could more accurately call them— serves to reinforce the notion that child raising is the primary responsibility of the mom. For organizations so committed to helping support mothers, this is counterproductive.

Selfies are a manifestation of society’s obsession with looks and its ever-narcissistic embrace. There’s a sense that selfie subjects feel as though they’re starring in their own reality shows, with an inflated sense of self that allows them to believe their friends or followers are interested in seeing them lying in bed.

Women are often stuck in wanting to take their lessons from women who are just like them.

With the permanence of marriage looming, small issues take on a greater meaning as couples work to align on such trademark marital issues as money, work, household tasks, and each other’s parents.

It’s time to do some serious thinking about stress and how to deal with it. It is a fact of life.

Whatever women choose to do — hug, kiss, handshake — it’s key to embrace the choice and approach the movement with confidence and ease. In the end, it’s less about the point of contact than about the attitude behind it.

If we want to really see the world of women and work, we should expand our view from right now to what’s next. What will that world be like for working women in 2020?

The term "working mother" itself carries a sniff of disapproval and feint praise—no one debates the notion of the "working father," after all. Women tend to feel scrutinized no matter what they choose, and often depending on whom their friends are—and what decisions those friends make for themselves.

Disappointments and difficulties are an inevitable and universal fact of life; helping kids both recognize this fact and the fact that life still goes on is an important lesson in resilience and what it looks like to support one another.

It's Important to recognize punishment is not the same as discipline. Discipline is necessary. Punishment is not.

Studies show that bad bosses aren't just a hit for morale; they're a hit for business and profitability.
