An insider's guide to success in the workplace

It's Time to Redefine Insanity

Welcome to the new asylum. It has no walls.

If we could stop and look at what's become mainstream in this country, and think rationally for a minute, I think we would be hard-pressed to call its leaders anything less than  insane. Yet, we marginalize the people thought to lack the lucidity necessary to think clearly, call them mentally ill and put them on the fringe of society. What's more, we deem them as unfit and "crazy" because they are so disturbed they pose a threat to either society or themselves, meaning they are likely to cause harm. Right. Okay. So let's back up.

We have doctors who prescribe medicine that makes us sick, unable to weigh and assess the suspect nature and motives of pharmaceutical companies.

We have politicians who create legislation as diversion tactics from their own behavior rather than use it to serve as a vehicle of law intended to protect society against the crimes for which they are the biggest culprits.

We have a Congress filled with people posing as adults who would rather behave like little, tiny children than do their jobs, who are completely unable to see that they are the problem.

We have priests walking around shrouded in elaborate costumes who are supposed to represent love and respect for a higher good who in reality debase the religion by behaving in the lowest, most corrupt and evil way possible.

What's worse is that in the process they have all completely convinced themselves that they are better than others when they are not. Far from it. They're drinking the Kool-Aid and we're watching. So tell me again. Who's crazy?
