What four-letter word can be the most difficult to say?
Help.
Living in a society that prides itself on self-sufficiency, the idea of asking for help can often be daunting. You mean admit that I can't handle everything that comes my way? Not a chance! The ability, though, to ask for help can sometimes be life saving and the inability to do so can lead to many unnecessary consequences.

Important
Important thoughts for those battling Depression. Glad your well !
Sincerely,David
Your article on asking for help
Excellent article! I just have to let you know about my book
entitled Help Is Not a Four-Letter Word: Why Doing It
All Is Doing You In published by McGraw Hill.
I've identified a self-defeating belief I call The Self-Sufficiency Syndrome. It's an epidemic! Many of us can't ask for help and can't delegate because no one else can do it as well. Even when we don't have challenges like depression we're headed for burnout, anxiety
disorders etc.
You have hit on an important issue!! People need to "buck" the culture value that it's a weakness to ask for help and move toward Interdependency.
I would be happy to send you a copy of my book.
Thank you,
Peggy Collins

Hi Peggy,
Thanks for the feedback. That is true - it does make it that much more difficult to ask for help when we notice that no one else is doing it either. I looked up your book - that's great that you wrote about it. I'd love to receive a copy. I'll e-mail you.
Thanks so much,
Adia
