It seems Mr. Personality has very poor net-working skills. I hope no tax payers in the UK are paying for this study!

I am in my early 20s and nearly all of my friends, peers, and family members use social networking-some in excess. One thing that bothers me about Facebook is that social etiquette seems to go out the window-I mean, what's this why my boss trying to friend me or my boyfriend's pals "friending" me-I hardly know these people!!!
I "Facebook Purge" my friend list about every 4-6months
People that I haven't spoken to/talked with/messaged/poked/aka...ANY form of contact besides their Facebook "Newsfeed" get deleted.
It may sound harsh to some but it works...so now I have 103 Facebook friends but my the REAL friends are only 4 people I know..
How many Facebook contacts would the wise Greek philosopher have
What a good discussion...I have posted it on FB at the risk of being called "judgemental" lol. It is so true though...I only have 40 friends :-)
Thanks for a good topic that interests someone like me who's both in IT and interested in Psychology of it!
Self Interest
It appears to me that anyone whether contacting and networking for career or "genuine" emotional connection is self interested. I have family and friends on FB, but rarely talk about the weather, "their" children or party from the previous night.
Anti-social working
Great article :)
I left all social networking websites when I realised they were highly superficial and a waste of time. A typical status might be "I'm eating tomato soup for dinner" - big wow! Or people having ego trips regarding their oh so good holiday snaps.
Social networking (websites) should be renamed anti-social networking websites! Or maybe they could be renamed "social not-working"?
Real socialising occurs face to face, which is why long distance friendships tend to fade over time. Real friendships need nurturing face to face on a reasonably regular basis.
Social network is lame. Quitting those sites was the best thing I ever did. My REAL friends contact me by standard means and we meet up quite regularly. I don't have time for fake friends... life's too short.
"Extraversion?"
Pretty sure it's "extroversion."
It's either one...
It's either one...

synonimous
Dear Mr Personality:
I love all your articles, they make me study harder.
But I am confused again as I study for to get into your country.
What does word synonimous mean on first line?
Is this special psychology term? Is it the same as synonymous? I spent an hour on web looking up but could not find.
Thank you very much. I hope to one day be your biggest fan. I will not bother anymore today. Thank you very much.
