Hair Loss - Chemo
While I dreaded the thought of chemo, I absolutely could not deal with losing my hair. I went to a local wig salon (http://www.chicagowigsalon.com/) before my treatments so they could see my natural look. Once my hair became noticeably thinner, they fitted me with a wig that looked perfect. My oncologist even expressed dismay at one point that my hair hadn't fallen out yet! Not losing my hair help keep up my spirits and live normally during a tough time.
PCOS
Hair thinning needs to be discussed because it can be a symptom of various health problems. One very common problem is PCOS: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's the most common cause of infertility in women, but even if you're not concerned about having kids at some point, it elevates the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and breast cancer (insulin-resistance can lead to difficulty shifting weight, and more breast fat = more likelihood of bc; and PCOS is a hormonal imbalance, so where there's excess testosterone, the body can convert it to estrogen, and excess estrogen = higher risk of bc (think of male bodybuilders who take steroids and end up with "moobs")).

This is a business started by a very inspiring woman with Alopecia. Initially, the disease had a devastating impact on her self esteem and her life. She designs beautiful, comfortable, and practical head scarves for women with medical hair loss. Lots of inspiring stuff on her website.
beautiful bald women
My wife is bald, not a hair on her head, she has alopecia universalis.
She is more beautiful bald than most women who have hair.
To me, and an increasing number of men, we find bald women to be very attractive. It is an exotic, sensual look on a beautiful lady.
You can really see a woman's feminine features without hair, and if she is beautiful and feminine, she looks even more beautiful and feminine without hair covering her lovely feminine features.
Some bald women, especiaslly when they are dolled up very feminine, are stunning bald.
Which is why some women fashion models and women in rock nands are now shaving their heads and wearing the bald look.
Another lovely look on a beautiful bald woman is when she wears a long flowing headscarf.
To me, my wife looks better bald, or in a headscarf, than in a wig.
The bald look on women is gradually becoming more accepted in western cultures. And more people are beginning to understand that some women actually lok more beautiful and feminine with a sensually smooth bald head. It is becoming a fashion style for beautiful women.
My wife, when she is dolled up ultra feminine and wearing her bald look in public, often gets compliments, from men and women. She wears the bald look very well. She is beautiful.
