Penis Size: The Measure of a Man?

Ancient drawings clearly indicate man's obsession with penis size is nothing new. As an adolescent on family vacation at the ruins of Pompeii, I remember viewing with my father a "special" fresco hidden behind a shutter for an extra fee paid to the tour guide. My mother and sister were not invited. Read More

I agree

it's about the man behind the penis - (and self confident men are the sexiest!)

The chicken and the egg aspect...

Perhaps having a bigger love stick makes a man more self-confident.

Well...

It's very well established that women do preferentially select for taller men -- only 2% of marriages involve a woman who's taller than her husband, and studies of singles ads have shown that when women mention any physical characteristic of what they're seeking it's always about a man's height (and taller is invariably better); all things being equal a taller/bigger man does have a larger "love muscle".

So while women are fond of saying "size doesn't matter", their actual behavior suggests otherwise, and none want a small-dicked (or short) man. One hears this all the time in discussions of why Asian men just are not attractive to women in spite of their having other desirable characteristics.

So the basic idea behind why men are concerned about penis size is not all that far-fetched or unfounded, though I do agree that one pretty much has to get used to having what one has since there's not a lot that can be done about it.

One always has to keep in mind that male behavior is the result of a breeding experiment run by females, so it's not exactly correct to portray this as being just a male obsession.

Interesting article

It's very true that younger males do have an obsession with their genitals. Fortunately, and I can attest to this, that obsession diminishes with age.

As far as women are concerned, I've seen both sides of the spectrum.

I was actually asked on a first date, back when I was in my 30's, how big my package was...

To say I was a surprised would be an understatement....
