Who We Are (A Brief Introduction)

Before we get to the hard-core, down and dirty blogging, it seems appropriate to introduce ourselves and at least try to make the case that it may not be a complete waste of your time to come check out this blog occasionally. Read More

Response to your blog

If your book is about the origins of human sexuality "before agriculture and writing," how did you develop your basic thesis? Without written records, what are your theories based on?

scientific method

Are your methods more observational or experimental?

Minimal Participation

This must be a new blog! There are only two entries. I'm not paticularly interested in this subject at this time. I took the time to read the two entries as well as the opening statements in an effort to determine if there is sufficeint substance to warrent additional time spent here.

I will give it another chance later! As of now I'm not inclined to return - Mervin

So, Dr. Ryan, did you grow

So, Dr. Ryan, did you grow up in the jungles(or concrete canyons)of mid-town Manhattan?

You speak of Aisian, African

You speak of Aisian, African and early European influence in your research. What effect does the early American Indian have in your studies and your personal development?

Thanks

Good questions. The first deserves a blog post. Look for that in the next few days. Our methods are both observational and theoretical -- though not experimental. I didn't grow up in Manhattan, but lived there for three fascinating years during my impressionable 20s. As for Native American influences, we incorporate whatever relevant information we have concerning various groups we're familiar with. To be honest, I probably know more about these groups in general, but less about their sexual practices than I do about groups from other parts of the world. Thanks for your comments. CPR

American Indians

I've heard that Native Americans had a weird ritual where they would wrap a towel around their genitals and hold it up with a cinch or belt. Do you know anything about such a strange occurrence?

about the sexperts

I'm glad that two persons like you are going to put some light on this kind of obscure topics.
By the way, one topic I would like you to treat is aphrodisiacs (or whatever you call them in English). Do they exist ? Are they more than placebo ?
