This article rings eerily true with me as well. It makes total sense when you think about a woman's role as nurturer. And when I think about man's role as hunter, the two seem to compliment each other. Do you think that these instincts play into romantic relationships?

I appreciate your comments here - thanks. You have suggested that the sorts of things mentioned in this most-recent post are "instincts." There is still some debate as to how much of these differences are the result of instincts / genetics / biology and how much of them are the result of societal training. My guess is that we have a combination of both. At any rate, do these differences play into romantic relationships - most definitely YES.

I think I have become what you describe as a love cynic, gone from a soft hearted love fool to a fairly frightened I-am-happier-on-my-own kind of girl....any chance I will find a nice nurturing man to help me get rid of that scar tissue do you think John?
