Mason's defense of Simon Feuerman would carry more weight if Feuerman himself had not written a pathetic apologia here at the PT blog for the criminal actions of child rapist Roman Polanski.

Gutless Feuerman took down the posting after many rational but outraged commenters pointed out that his position was atrocious.

So yeah, look who's doing the pointing. And look too at the apologists...

Interestingly enough, I was listening to NPR earlier today and they mentioned a CIA plot (back in 2003) to undermine Saddam Hussein's authority in Iraq. They got a look-alike to pose in a grainy video showing the President enjoying sex with a young boy. However, the plan was finally dropped when it was pointed out that while such behavior is taboo here, nobody in the Middle East would care. The only universal crime appears to be Treason.

Something else that's interesting, thus far this column hasn't attracted any "You-Sum-a-Bitch-Pedophile-You" comments. Is it possible the Looney Tunes actually read what I wrote? Am I going to have to raise my low opinion of the Hoi Polloi? I hope not.

child molestation involves prepubescent children, right? once they are sexually mature it can still be considered illegal cause they may not be 18, but it's a huge difference.

considering prepubescent involves not being sexually mature, or understanding the meanings/feelings, etc of sex...would molesting a child really even cause any problems for the child if it weren't for everybody telling the child it was a problem? i mean, being cornered or held against one's will can cause problems, but the actual sexual act, kids can't even really understand it. does it really mess them up?

I am deeply disturbed that a mental health blog, written by a 'professor', has stooped so low as to belittle the crime of child pornography. Mr Mason, your tales of truly absurd 'witch-hunts' are as bizarre as they are uncommon.
Your reference to Images of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse as 'Kiddie-porn' makes me truly question your motives and indeed your agenda.

How is it you avoided the facts that 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused?
That 1 n 6 boys is sexually abused?
Where are professionals such as yourself, in defense of Children?

Have you ever truly seen what Child- pornography (a misnomer, because they do not 'consent' to being photographed/filmed).
I am not talking teen sexting here- I am refering to the forced erotica and rape images of children. Infants through teens, often restrained always crying, sometimes screaming....

As for damage...I take it sir you have never had to change the dressings of a 2 yr old whose perineum was ripped open by an adult who was simply enjoying himself? Or talked an adult through attempted suicide, or told a teenager who had been raped for years by her uncle, that one day, her body would again belong to her.
