actually it's funny you mentioned the check thing. my uncle works at the federal reserve bank and his job was working to check all the signatures for checks. it actually does get done. now whether they only raise a flag when it happens more than once, twice...or only on checks over 10grand i don't know. but that is his job.

I sincerely have to wonder about the efficacy of such a department. I have frequently signed checks for both my current and my former wife and, on occasion, for several of my friends as well. There has never been any question. Maybe it was your uncle's day off?
Also, does he say he has copies of 300 million signatures on file so that he can make comparisons?
Come to think of it, I have to wonder about not just the efficacy but about the existence of such a department. Maybe your uncle's working undercover at the CIA?
Get him to come clean!
