Who really benefits when we medicate our children? Read More

Wonderful post. I
Wonderful post. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I think in society we rush too much to medicate instead of tackling the problems head on and dealing with them. We've gone from taking a village to raise a child to laying all of the burden on one person and then forcing that person to do what the rest feels is necessary. Everyone wants the easy way out especially when kids with special needs are involved. Most of the time they don't need the medication, they need our time, understanding, support and guidance. No it's not easy, but seeing them grow and flourish is well worth the tears, heartache, sleepless nights and whatever else we have to deal with.
Well said!
Thanks for your input. You are absolutely correct. The burden is placed solely on the parent to get the child to conform. Awareness needs to be spread and we need to change our way of thinking about education.
