Reason, Season, or Lifetime, Plus Inspiration from Blogger Who Wants to Marry

Are you single for a reason, a season, or a lifetime?

Have you heard that much-quoted adage (by an unknown author) that "people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime"? Living Single reader Iolanda came up with a brilliant parallel - perhaps people are single for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. (Thanks, Iolanda!)

Singles who have chosen to be single for a lifetime are most likely "single at heart." Have some ideas about living single for a reason or a season? Please share them in the comments section.

Readers of this blog know that I do not often point to the writings of people who want to get married for inspiration, but I just discovered a blog post that I love. It is by a woman who has fantasized about the person she would marry since she was 12 years old, yet look at how she describes her current single life. Read all the way to the end - it just gets better and better.

[I have a request for advice on a matter that is mostly irrelevant to the topic of Living Single, except that it is one of the ways I get the word out about our discussions and other writings on singles. It is my website. I like to update it regularly but haven't done so for ages because the program I use to make changes, Macromedia Contribute 3 (I think it used to be called Dreamweaver or some such), has been very temperamental. Does anyone have any suggestions for a program I can use to make changes to my website? It would have to be easy enough for a technologically-challenged person such as myself. I'd also like to be able to make changes directly without recreating the entire website. I hired someone who is terrific when I first created my site, but with my limited financial resources, I'd like to be able to do this on my own this time. Many thanks to anyone who has an idea to offer.]
