I'm a grown adult and would sometimes love to do this. In my case I wish my rope was connected on the other end to my therapist, but the need for connection and safety is the same. This is a unique and validating strategy for children.

Strategy for night-time fears

Hey, Jeff, I really like this idea! I see a lot of kids too who have trouble falling asleep; often their parents end up spending an hour or more lying next to their child hoping he or she falls asleep soon. I'm going to recommend the connecting rope. Thanks! Janet
