Great blog. I studied neuropsychology and was fascinated by the story of H.M. However, I never grasped the tragedy of H.M. until my own mother lost her immediate memory because of vascular dementia. It was painful to watch her lose her enjoyment of reading because she could not retain information long enough to understand a paragraph and later even a sentence. H. M. gave me the gift of understanding. Thanks.
