Compassion Fatigue Terminal Illness Caregiver

I am very relieved to find this webpage today. My mother died in May of 2010 after a 5 year battle with ALS. I was her primary caregiver and it looks like I've made every mistake you mention. I feel like the marrow has been sucked out of my bones and no one gets it. I've been struggling and trying to figure out why I am not recovering in some areas, and so started doing some reasearch today. This is definitely it. Thank you for the information.

I am so sorry. I know it has been a while but your powerful words needed to be responded to no matter how long its been. How are you doing? It is a definite time to be taking care of yourself and Taking the Oxygen First.
