I recently asked coaches in the Wellcoaches community to submit a list of ten ways in which they want to thrive in the upcoming year. The coach who submitted the most compelling ideas would win a series of coaching sessions with me to further develop their ideas and create plans for making it happen. Mary Beth won the coaching sessions and shared her thoughts after our first:

Meg,

As I already told you, I have been totally psyched to THRIVE this year! Having my perception change from "Resolving to Change" to "Intending to Thrive" has been HUGE for me; semantics, go figure!

With this new perspective, I have been making strides in my exercise and nutrition decisions.

Today's session involved some new insights for me:

  • Hearing you rephrase what I said to you really helped me to realize how "heavy" or "burdened" I have been feeling about the clutter, etc. in my life.
  • Hearing you rephrase how "light and airy" I said I would feel if I achieved my ideal version of myself was so affirming to the direction I intend to go.

You really hit on a whole new insight for me in pointing out how my success in swimming in high school and college may be a burden to me now. I hadn't really thought of it quite that way before. Having been the fit, aerobics instructor, and not being that person now, has been an obstacle for me to hurdle.

What I know for sure is that this fit person is still living deep within the fabric of who I am, and I'm ready to see more of her again!

I loved using the signature strengths! I had never used this before and was very curious as to how you were going to incorporate it in our session!

When you asked me how I was going to use my strengths in relation to cleaning the garage it took on a whole new meaning for me. Seeing where my strengths are, and finding a way to use them, actually makes this overwhelming task a bit more manageable.

I am very anxious to incorporate this piece with my clients!

Thanks Meg!
