Sir, I believe you are talking about the American Legal System.

Not so

You may rest easy tonight. I can report with certainly that no one will go to prison if they fail the Poor Man's Polygraph. It is only an indicator of deception, not proof of deception. If these subtle techniques are not available to investigators, the fall back is a return to the old ways of torture.

Asshole move.

The forced response seems like an asshole move on the part of the user. It seems to me that innocent, but timid or easily intimidated people would just as likely be caught as 'guilty' with stuff like this.
