I have been a "student" of criminal behavior since 1970 when I joined psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Yochelson at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, D.C. There, in the Program for the Investigation of Criminal Behavior, we completed the longest indepth research-treatment study of offenders conducted in North America (the study began in 1961 and ended in 1978).
Since that time, I have been a practitioner, author, consultant and expert witness helping others to understand adult and juvenile criminal behavior to help offenders change. I have presented training and continuing education workshops throughout North America
On the blog, I shall discuss topics from my 40 years of work as well as comment on current events relating to criminal conduct.
I look forward to responses and questions from readers.
Stanton E. Samenow, Ph.D.
