Don't be coy!  Just ask for what you want, (or find what you want), and be happy. This leads me to my favorite quote ever:

     If you don't ask, the answer is always no.

I can't find the original source of this truism, but someone told this to me over 15 years ago, and I've tried to follow it ever since.

(If you are a Freudian, substitute "cigar" for "banana" in the title. I prefer bananas.)
