It takes faith

Surely one of the great challenges for the client in the psychotherapeutic relationship is having the faith to believe we will get there . . . to that clean (I like that word) ending we so desire. Believing I could grow to a place of being able to (somewhat) confidently walk away from the relationship has been a huge challenge in my three years of very hard work. I am beginning to see signs that it could happen, but it still tends to make my heart constrict. Clearly those endless goodbye's in my past left their mark. I want so very badly to end this therapeutic journey well, but I am still challenged to believe it will be acceptable and not overly painful. Thanks for your great blogs; they have been very helpful. Only hard part is waiting for the next installment, especially with this series on termination . . . even tho I have plenty of time until my own.

Well said, Rebecca. May you

Well said, Rebecca. May you find it an easier journey for you than your heart now tells you.
