I have been with my

I have been with my therapist for about 3 years now. I do respect him and his opinions but I do not hesitate if I completely disagree or do not understand his rationale. From there, it is usually just left at my opinion versus his. Agree to disagree. In the 3 years, there is basically only one issue that I have not been able to get past with him as far as the way things were handled but I am sure that it always goes both ways.

Trust

I trust my therapist, so I'm not afraid to speak with him candidly. I tell him everything.

Your advice is fine in an

Your advice is fine in an ideal world, but the therapist population can also be fragile and defensive, completely unequipped to handle a client calling them on their mistakes or folly. Armed with their diagnostics and client disclosures, they can unleash great harm on their clients. Your rose-colored advice sets readers up for a great deal of damage.
