what about after 3 kids (15,11,8) mom is now saying "its time for me now"... disconnecting from the home, the husband and the kids in many ways too. Midlife crises? Selfishness? Someone whose life plan was to always be a mom. I'm all about taking care of yourself but once a mom always a mom, right?

Yes, always a mom! But so many other things as well. You do need to take care of your own needs as well.
