Sometimes I think our country has gone nuts. We have collapsing financial markets, unprecedented housing foreclosures, $4 gas, and an emperor without any clothes on perambulating in the midst of an incredibly critical presidential election. But despite everything, many people (myself included) have a remarkable capacity to maintain optimism and confidence and even some cheer – about ourselves and the world around us. Good article. Pleased to see you on my blog!:)
Dear Ms. Lyubomirsky,
Imagine how thrilled I was to receive a comment from you on my blog this morning concerning my heartfelt 'review' or discussion of your book "The How of Happiness."
I have indeed found it quite helpful! It is chock full of good stuff that anyone, and certainly a person with bipolar, like myself, can learn and use to enhance their life. Like you say, if you do the work of 'intentional activities,' you will reap the benefits.
I too was very interested in your article above about surviving, recovery and thriving. I can relate very much to these concepts and I am thankful that I got an opportunity this morning to read your article. It is certainly 'food for thought' in the expected (at least) 40% of the pie that we can change.:)
I want to thank you again for dropping by. I called my husband and my mother to tell them about it, I was so thrilled by it.
My mother deduced how important the blog world can be for me, how it can create a support system, and it was so nice to receive your comment, and from such a highly-academic and well-esteemed person from the 'psychology world.' Thank you again. I hope you have a good day and I wish you well with your research. It is, indeed, just what this world desperately needs.
Sincerely,
Jungletart

Great Article!
Dear Dr. Lyubomirsky,
I have recently opened a new section in my website dedicated to helping each other live happier lives. Because of this, I came to read your article titled: "How To Remain Happy When the Financial World Crumbles" and would like to ask for permission for reprint at my site. I believe it has the power to move lives.
Will appreciate your reply at my email address above.
Thank You for contributing for a happier world!
Warmly,
Tamara
Of course
Thanks for your kind words. You are welcome to use the post; just be sure to provide appropriate citation and links!
“That which does not kill me makes me stronger.”
This statement is so very true. Losses, hard time, make us stronger. I was poor when I was little and when these financial hard times hit I have know problem adjusting to what needs to be done. I am a better person because of my past.
