Why Are High Heels So Enticing?

None other than the iconic Marilyn Monroe is reputed to have proclaimed the following: "I don't know who invented the high heel, but all men owe a lot to him." Recently, an Italian urologist linked the wearing of high heels with improved sex for women. you forgot one possibility

The first time I mentioned evolutionary psychology to my social psychology professor when I was an undergrad she said "those people are idiots, they think that men like to see women in high heels because it's easier to knock them over and mate with them".

HIGH HEELS

Terrific Professor. Do you know any stydy from east perspective? and what about the high heels boots?

I disagree. But it's a win-win situation!

"Bottom line: the wearing of high heels is a win-win situation" - Sure, if you exclude the "severe podiatric injuries." (Unless limping and teetering on heels is considered sexy). Just like the "risky mating-relating behaviors that are exceptionally dangerous" are win-win. Women are apparently supposed to find these behaviors sexy which makes those men who engage in such behaviors more likely to get laid. Excluding the possibility that the men could end up dead or crippled. Win-win.

"Examples include the proclivity of pornographic actresses, strippers, and bikini models to wear high heels in film scenes, strip clubs, and beauty competitions respectively." --- I'm curious: If the women who seem to set the standard of "sexiness" in our culture wear heels.... won't men just find heels sexy by association? Would men from non-western cultures find women in high heels more attractive than those not in high heels?

Win-win?

"Bottom line: the wearing of high heels is a win-win situation." I take it you've never worn them.
