What's Going Right?

There's more right than wrong in your life. What is it?
I've been tagged by Jonathon, author of Illuminated Mind and one of the sharpest young men floating around the blogosphere. This is his question... What's RIGHT with your life? Wow.

Since Christmas Boy and I read (well, HE read, and I followed along) Breaking The Rules, I've learned to ask this question of my clients. I do this because by the time I meet them, they perceive that their lives are in disorder and all they can see is what's NOT working. They're unhappy to some degree, and they've brought me in to solve the problem. Einstein said, "A problem can't be solved using the same thinking that created it." This means I have to address the client's attitude and mindset and help elevate it before I can help them change their habits, their environment and therefore, their lives. The problem was created by the past mindset and thinking, so we need to change it in order to solve it.

I like to set the tone and "re-boot" their attitude by asking them what's RIGHT with their life. When they become present to what IS working, what IS good, what IS fabulous, they shift their focus from the relatively small percentage of negative in their life to the huge percentage of positive that's already there. It's a wonderful way to begin a session.

But back to Jonathon's question. As for what's right with MY life, there are so many things I couldn't begin to think of them all, but here are a few that leap to mind right away (in no particular order):

1. I am healthy.
2. I have clean drinking water at the touch of a button.
3. I have electricity, gas and hot water whenever I want it.
4. I have a fantastic family and a husband who adores me.
5. I have amazing friends that I treasure.
6. I love my career.

Those are the first things that came to mind and they're things I'll bet a lot of folks don't have. That alone is humbling. What are your first things that are RIGHT with your life?
