The benefits of Facebook as a social media tool can easily be outweighed by its dangers. Fortunately, each of the “seven sins," from Facebook jealousy to "Fear of Missing Out" syndrome can be overcome by informing yourself about the dangers and taking curative actions. Read More

Thanks
Great article, thanks -- you could mention cyber bullying (and suicides) in the 7th sin as well as an example.
Re: Thanks
Dear Novalin,
Yes, sadly, those are definitely examples of the 7th sin.
Thanks for your comment.
Best,
Susan

grammar
did anyone proofread this article for the missing words and the misspelled ones?
Re: grammar
Hi anonymous,
Though I myself check my own postings, I see that the grammar/typo gremlin attacked me anyhow. Thanks for pointing out the mistakes. Someday I'll write a blog about how top-down processing leads us to miss our own errors (but see those of others, sigh...).
Best,
Susan
Stalking
Hey, I was in shock when you talked about the sin of stalking the other persons boyfriend and or girlfriend. I know of a person who did that. They signed up in a different name and messed with his head, literally. How horrible is that! What a helpful article.
Regarding FB Sin #1
You're right on about #1, it totally destroyed my past relationship. The "imagined" infidelity turned into "fantasized", "obsessive" infidelity to the point where I'd be checking up on him for HOURS! It's been 5 months and I'm still struggling to stop it. It's insane.
Re: Regarding FB Sin #1
I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I hope my article will help you; also check out the "Weekly Focus" on my website which has additional resources. Best, Susan
I have to agree with you in
I have to agree with you in point number one...but this was the way that I found out that my husband's new vriend in FB, was in Miami with him when he said It was a bussiness trip...
So I may be going crazy, but I found out something that I could not have known otherwise.
He does not share much....but she did.
Re: I have to agree with you in
Dear B,
I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. What a difficult way to learn the sad truth about your husband.
Best,
Susan
