We all know someone who claims never to dream. Although the question has never to my knowledge been definitely answered by science, it appears that there are some people who rarely or never dream or never recall the dreams they have. At least this is what they tell us. Read More

Does it matter?
I realize that on a biological standpoint, we all dream but more importantly is whether it matters to a person if they recall them at all?
Many people simply have no interest in nightly dreams and are able to easily forget them upon awakening.
I very rarely dream, or, as
I very rarely dream, or, as people always tell me, I don't remember my dreams. I'm always the odd man out in dream conversations and have been curious as to whether or not there is any meaning or significance to my exclusion from this mental fun house. I'd like to add another historical reference to "not dreaming" that is in a similar vein to what the author has brought forth. Chuang Tzu speaks of the "Real Man" not dreaming.

Im 27 and as far as I can
Im 27 and as far as I can re-call I've only ever had a handfull of dreams only one of witch was a childhood nightmare. All of the dreams I have remembered (4 or 5) have all been when I'm half awake (as in I can hear people etc... but they can't hear me nor can I find them, inc. the nightmare)
Of the few I can re-call only one has been in my adult life and was of adult nature.
I would like to dream (or at least I think I would) is there any know way of increasing the chances????
I know someone who says that
I know someone who says that they have never had a dream. BUT, they also try so relentlessly to get me to interpret the fact that they do not dream. This brings to attention the 'I wish I was interesting' phase that so many young women try to bring about. She wants people to believe that she is an anomoly-- Though not dreaming is quite common-- even though in other situations she has talked about a dream she's had. So no. She is not an anomoly, which has evidently turned me off of the subject of not dreaming.
Dreamers
I'm also a person who doesn't recall dreams often. I sometimes remember tiny snippets, and very occasionally I'll recall a few seconds of a dream. Every now and then I'llbwake up from a dream in a panic, but while I know I had a dteam I don't remember a single yhing.
I get amazed at the vivid recollections people have, but I remember when I was a child I'd have vivid dreams involving the nightmarish tales you are taught. (Giants attacking the town I lived in was a common one.)
So, whether my brain trained out of it to avoid the nightmares, or just getting older changed my brain chemistry, I don't know.
