Motivation as cognition and therapy
Thanks for an interesting review of a beautiful paper-
Accept for the about, this research is interesting:(1)it shows us one possible combination/integration (maybe out of many-?) between automatic and strategic processes and (2)it demonstrates the effect of one form of motivation as cognition (e.g., implementation intentions) on anxiety reduction. This path is pretty new as many treatment protocols emphasize what they call "cognition" (e.g., cognitive distortion)and ignore the important role of motivation on the process of change.
